MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a technique most commonly used in radiology to visualize the detailed structure and function of the body. An MRI provides much greater contrast between the different soft tissues of the body than a CT scan does, making it especially useful in neurological (brain), musculoskeletal, breast and cardiovascular imaging. Unlike a CT, it uses no ionizing radiation, but rather a powerful magnetic field to align the magnetization of hydrogen atoms in water inside the body.

The head-out, feet-out design lets patients feel more in control. This reduces fear and anxiety for those suffering from claustrophobia or the uncomfortable feeling of being enclosed. One foot of headroom means you no longer feel like you are nose to nose with the top of the magnet. The spaciousness also allows for larger patients to fit comfortably. It can accommodate people of all ages and weight groups, from children 9 and up to a maximum of 450 lbs.

Our open bore MRI is 70 cm + 70 cm + 1.5T a combination never seen before in MRI. Our MRI is fully integrated with the Total Imaging Matrix, which is one of its kind and the very first mosaic surface coil design for the whole body.
